CHASE, Charley  (1893-1940). American comedian, actor. Played in vaudeville and a star in silent films.  Worked at Keystone Studios. He started his career as a film director at Hal Roach Studios. During  1930 he oversaw Our Gang Films and he directed some of the early Three Stooges Films. During 1960, his star was placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Exquisite presentation inscription and sentiment signed on a vintage album page: “To Violet Best Wishes from Charley Chase.” In fine condition.  Considered a very scarce autograph..........$137.50
