Branson, Richard (1950- ). English business magnate, co-founder of the Virgin Group in 1970. During 1972 he launched Virgin Records which became the world’s largest independent record label. He was knighted in 2000. In 2021 he travelled as a passenger onboard Virgin Galactic Unity 22 to the edge of space.
