WARREN, Earl   (1891-1974) Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1933-1969).  Governor of California and Republican Vice-Presidential candidate. Known for his decision to outlaw segregation in public schools. His controversial involvement in the compulsory removal of 120,000  Americans of Japanese decent from the West Coast to inland concentration camps is still talked about today. He was appointed to chair what became known as the Warren Commission which investigated the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. First Day Cover commemorating the Inauguration of Lyndon B.
