Credited with Preventing the Succession of Kentucky From the Union

Rousseau, Lovell H. (1818-1869).  Union General, received special mention in the Battle of Buena Vista. He is credited with preventing the succession of Kentucky from the Union. Served in the Battle of Shiloh. Died while only 59 years old and buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Scarce Free Franking signature as a Member of Congress. Washington, postmark cancelled Feb. 12. Addressed to Mrs. L.M.B. Piatt, New Castle, Henry Co. Kentucky. In fine condition and a rather scarce autograph..
