influential artist of the 20th century. Pioneer of cubism.

- Wonderful portrait signed, approximately 6”x 8.5”, black and white
of a shirtless Picasso wearing a flower over his ear. Half length
pose smiling with arms folded. Portrait removed from an art book.
Boldly signed with what it appears to be a blue artist pencil
and dated “1972” in his hand just a year before his
passing.

- This photo was sent to Picasso with one
other in November 1971 and they was received back by the collector
in March 1972. Little known to the autograph community that Picasso
would sign through the mail in 1970 and would do so during 1972.
It is a fact that Picasso during those years would sign up to
2-3 items at a time through the mail. Depending on his mood
and health he would simply sign the items sent to him, occasional
date some and even right the name of his town on others. This
example has the desirable date in his hand.
