Typed Letter Signed, "K.M. Landis" on the imprinted letterhead "Baseball." Kenesaw M. Landis, Commissioner. Chicago, September 21, 1923 to Mr. A.L. Sloan, Editorial Department, Evening American. "Acknowledging receipt of the invitation to attend a reception to Mr. Curley on Saturday evening, September 22, I am very sorry to have to inform you that I will be on a railroad train headed away from Chicago while this function is in progress.
