JOHNSTON, Harriet Lane. (1830-1903). President Buchanan's niece and Proxy First Lady. He was the only bachelor President. Harriet served as his first lady in the White House.
 
Large Signature, with sentiment, on a card, approximately 4 in. by 5 in. She has written: "Believe me, very sincerely yours, Harriet Lane Johnston, Sept. 14, 1893." A fine example. $175.00
