Fernando Collor de Mello (b. 1949). President of Brazil (1990–1992).

- The youngest president of Brazil following
the first public election in 29 years, Collor de Mello was a
member of the right-wing Social Democratic Party. His brief term
as president was dominated by radical—though unsuccessful—attempts
to reduce inflation, and a massive personal corruption case which
led to his resignation. In December 1994, the Brazilian supreme
court acquitted him of the corruption charges.
