on a slip of chain laid paper.

- Reads: "Macgowan. I've had hard
luck trying to get good English type-writing done in Paris; it
is likely that other people are in the same boat. Sincerely,
yours, S.L. Clemens". Then adds, "Speak also
to Monsieur -" (name is crossed out).

tape residue on top corners, one-inch tear on upper right margin,
