- Very RARE Typed Quotation Signed from his book Doctor Tom Dooley, My Story.
Boldly signed with a large signature. Dr. Dooley was awarded
the nation's highest award by President Ngo Dinh Diem. The typed
quote is as follows: "there were also moments that paid
such rich rewards that they made up for all the rest. In the
evening when the chaos and sadness and pain of the day gave way
to the silence of the night, I would remember that humanity is
God on earth and that a doctor's job is to cure sometimes, to
relieve often and to comfort always. At such times I would think
of the bridge of friendship that joined our hospital at Muong
Sing to far-off America. And I thought, too, of Abraham Lincoln's
words, 'Freedom is for all men in all lands everywhere.' Then
I knew exactly why I had come to Laos and I was grateful to God
for trusting me with this mission." Together with a
portrait of Dr. Dooley unloading medical supplies from a Jeep.
A fine pair for framing. SOLD
